Cinema One Originals 2016 finalists announced
Cinema One Originals 2016 has announced its Narrative Full Length Feature finalists today. Seven new films will be competing, 3 of which will be directed by former finalists, and four films will be directed by first-timers in the full length category.
1. LILY by Keith Deligero
Deligero is a Cebuano filmmaker who came to the independent film scene with his feature film debut, Iskalawags – a coming of age tale set in Camotes Island about young boys who share the same adoration to action star Jeric Raval
2. EVERY ROOM IS A PLANET by Malay Javier
Javier is primarily a cinematographer with 8 films under his lens. His directorial debut (Hindi Sila Tatanda) was a Cinema One Originals finalist in 2014.
3. BAKA BUKAS PWEDE NA by Samantha Lee
Lee has a degree in BA Film and AudioVisual Communications from the University of the Philippines and has interned with several independent films, and started making fashion and behind-the-scenes videos. Her critically acclaimed short feature Agos (University of the Philippines Best Documentary Thesis 2011; 23rd CCP Independent Film and Video Competition , 1st Prize Documentary Category; Official Selection, 1st British Surf Film Festival - UK, 3rd Place, Home Grown Board Shorts Section) is a documentary about a female surfer. She is finishing her Masters in Communication at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.
4. SI MAGDALOLA AT MGA GAGO by Jules Katanyag
Katanyag has been working at GMA 7 as a television writer with 26 drama programs under his credit.
5. MALINAK LA'Y LABI by Jose Abdel Langit
Langit has been working as an assistant director for television and films for 14 years. He also used to direct stage adaptations.
6. DOS MESTIZOS by Petersen Vargas
Vargas is an award-winning short filmmaker. His bittersweet short gay feature, Lisyun qng geografia, won him a Balanghai trophy for Best Director in Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival in 2015. This film, written by Jason Paul Laxamana, will be his feature film debut.
7. TISAY by Alfonso Torre
Torre, also transitioned from being a critically acclaimed short filmmaker to becoming a Best Director awardee for his debut full length feature, Kabisera, in 2013. This is his second film and second time as a Cinema One Originals finalist

2. Piding by Paolo Picones and Gym Lumbera
3. Forbidden Memory by Teng Mangansakan
The 12th Cinema One Originals Festival is set on November 2016.
