Check out Twitter's Facebook-like new design
So Twitter is rolling out a new design starting Tuesday and it looks very similar to Facebook. The new design which started leaking online last February is now being rolled out in some celebrity profiles including Zac Efron, Channing Tatum and Floyd Mayweather.
Took a screenshot of Zac Efron's new Twitter homepage. Check out how it looks now.
Similarities include the cover and profile photos, friend suggestions or in this case people to follow, placement of basic information under the main photo, search, mail and settings icon on the header and a list of friends-slash-followers with profile photos on the left sidebar.
While there are similarities, there are also new stuff implemented. There's now an option to filter your display based on tweets, photos/videos, people you follow, followers and favorites. You will be able to pin a tweet on top of the rest to make it look like an extension of your bio while your most popular tweet will appear enlarged, highlighting it further on your profile.
I think I will miss the old simple Twitter which had its own image that is independent of Facebook. But hey, it isn't as if we have a choice as this will be automatically rolled out over the next few weeks. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it turns out.
