Over the last three months, the Philippines endured a terrorist takeover in Mindanao that resulted in hundreds of casualties and millions in damages to property; a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that jolted Cebu and Bohol that destroyed homes and some of the country's prized relics. This month, we are facing the aftermath of one of the most dreadful typhoons in recorded history.
As we stand tall as a people and rebuild the nation, we give thanks to the countries and companies that have lent a helping hand to those in need. I am particularly thankful to SM for including my hometown in their relief efforts as 50,000 kalinga packages were dispersed to typhoon victims in Tacloban, Samar, Panay Island (Iloilo, Antique, Capiz), Cebu, Bicol and Bacolod.
SM employees were able to raise more than Php 100,000.00 for the Bohol earthquake victims. Currently, the employees are raising funds for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.
