A day after its final elimination and the announcement that iTunes downloads will now count as votes (1 download = 5 votes) for the chosen Grand Finalists, singles from The Voice of the Philippines dominated 9/10 of the most popular songs list on iTunes.
Though the final elimination was disappointing, as with any other show that relies on viewer votes, the iTunes chart is now showing an initial glimpse of the contestants' ranking. Leading the chart with his brand of chill music is Myk Perez closely followed by Klarisse de Guzman. As to why anyone would want to assault their eardrums by having Mitoy's
screaming songs on their playlists is beyond me but he is ranked a place higher than diva in the making, Janice Javier.
For those without an iTunes account, don't fret. You may vote for your favorite contestants this weekend via text votes. I'd imagine that the number of text voters can still easily trump the few iTunes users anyway.
The Voice of the Philippines will culminate this weekend. The winner will bring home 2Million Pesos, a car, an Asian tour and an MCA Music recording contract.
