Tuhog to take moviegoers on a different kind of ride on July 17, 2013

An intriguing dilemma was posted along with the presentation of the characters of Star Cinema's latest film, Tuhog. It asks, who deserves to live among three very different lives that will be skewered together in a freak accident: Fiesta, a bus barker whose life revolves around taking care of her demented father; Tonio, a retired old man who after getting past his prime and being a refuge to his family, now wants to fulfill his shrugged off dream of becoming a baker; and Caloy, a young man preserving his virginity for his girlfriend.

How these lives were able to come together was a challenge that Cinemalaya award-winning director Veronica Velasco (Last Supper #3, Inang Yaya) bravely took on as the film's writer and director.

Set to be released on July 17, 2013, Tuhog is so far the most interesting offering of Star Cinema/Skylight Films this year next to the Cannes Festival entry - On The Job. As the popular film studio celebrates its 20th year anniversary, this could also be an indication of their willingness to produce riskier films and depart from the tired romcom formula that dominated the studio's line-up in recent years.

Check out the trailer of Tuhog below:
