Philippines hurdles unholy blockade, RH Bill is now RH Law

Ending over a decade of debates of the much talked-about RH Bill, President Benigno Aquino III signed Republic Act No. 10354 or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012 on December 21, 2012.

The signing was done despite strong opposition from the Roman Catholic Church that rallied, threatened, lied and even used homilies to advance their own bid for control over the citizenry. The bill made a historic turn during this administration when Aquino stood his ground against the manipulative church and certified the bill urgent less than two weeks before Christmas.

The RH Law provides much needed access to reproductive health care services as well as information that the church and their minions in government tried hard to keep from the suffering families in the country.

UPDATE: Conflicting reports came out a few hours after the initial leak of RH being signed. Follow the story here.
