David Archuleta sings Nandito Ako

The current trend on primetime nowadays typically looks like this (not actual figures):

Abs-Cbn  15.3%
GMA 7      15.1 % (this interchanges depending on the show/artist that stars in them)
TV5           3.5%

The inclusion of Superstar Nora Aunor and later on the tandem of Lorna Tolentino and Alice Dixon made no major impact to this order. So to shake things up a little, TV5's latest attempt to penetrate the primetime market targets younger audiences by an unprecedented acquisition of Americal Idol alumnus, David Archuleta.

Archuleta, who announced last year that he would take a two-year leave of absence from singing to pursue his duties as Missionary for the Church of Latter Day Saints, signed up a deal to appear in a TV5 series called Nandito Ako. He will be co-starring with Jasmine Curtis, younger sister of Abs-Cbn and Viva talent Anne Curtis.

"Coming to the Philippines... [the TV5 project] fit my schedule before my departure. I will be leaving in a couple of months, but this is something I want to do before I go," he said.
