Penshoppe unable to accommodate fans at Fashion Week

Penshoppe hosted the biggest and most attended show at Fashion Week this year as it featured their new endorser and Star Cinema's newest acquisition, Mario Maurer.

The problem though was that they printed more tickets (two (2) can be acquired by buying P1000 worth of Penshoppe products in a single receipt) than the venue could hold. This resulted in hordes of angry customers that were blocked off from entering the show which technically they paid to see.

In this video posted on Youtube, a Penshoppe representative commented:

"We would also like to thank the many, many people who came to see Mario again and support our show at Philippine Fashion Week. While we planned for months, got the largest available Hall in SMX and added as many seats as we could, we were simply unprepared for the number of people who turned out to see the show. When the Hall was already overflowing inside, we had to make the difficult decision to prioritize safety over full accommodation.

We offer our sincerest and deepest apologies to the Mario Maurer and Penshoppe fans who waited patiently outside for hours but were not able to get inside. We promise to plan even better next time to accommodate everyone who comes. We want to share as much with you as we can.

In the meantime, we ask those who were not able to enter to please keep your unused invites. We are preparing something special and exclusive for you as our way of saying SORRY. While we are working hard to bring Mario back soonest, we will also give you something for you to have before he returns."

Personally, this looks to me like an acceptable apology. I do understand however that for those that saved up just to buy the items, made the effort to go to MOA and had their expectations set on seeing Maurer, they would be a little harder to pacify.

Nonetheless, props to Penshoppe for handling this mess. Looking beyond the unfortunate event, no one can deny that Penshoppe has just made a big splash back in the market and everyone is looking forward to this new campaign featuring Maurer.
