Glee has been sporadically good since last season but at least you had guys like Harry Shum, Jr and Chord Overstreet that could... well... entertain you when things get too boring. But this season, Glee announced that Chord's character, Sam, would no longer be part of the series and I thought that was it for me. One hot guy wasn't enough for me to sit through the uninteresting plot and the bland numbers.
Now, Fox has announced in a press release that Overstreet will return to the show for a multi-episode arc, which will kick off in December.
“We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back,” GLEE co-creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement. “So here’s an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks — Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!”
“I had the best time on GLEE and couldn’t be more excited to be returning,” Overstreet, who initially declined the guest spots, added.
Glee made headlines over the summer when word leaked that the show opted not to pick up Overstreet’s series regular option for Season 3. Producers invited him back on a recurring basis, but he declined. “They offered me the chance to come back for a few episodes, but there was nothing guaranteed so I decided to dive into the music thing,” he told TVLine in August.
PS I tried looking for Chord's to-die-for version of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' but there ain't one on Youtube. Bummer.
